ITALGEN - Italcementi Group

Italgen is an electricity generator and distributor trading on the international markets.

Italcementi established Italgen in 2001 with the aim of exploiting the production and distribution of electricity for the Group operations in Italy and abroad.

Italgen currently produces electricity through 14 hydroelectric power plants located in Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto interconnected through a network of approximately 400 kilometers of corporate power lines, as well as, through a photovoltaic plant in Emilia Romagna developed and built jointly with Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV).

The Company is strongly committed to the sustainability of its operations, managed in full respect of the environment and the territory using the best available technologies.

Italgen has recently completed some sustainable internatinal projects.
In Bulgaria, Italgen is operating two 9 MW wind farms located in Kavarna in partnership with Leitwind (Leitner Group).

A wind farm of 5 MW has been running since October 2011 at Laayoune (Morocco).

In Egypt, along the shores of the Red Sea, Italgen is committed to erecting a 120 MW wind farm. Once complete, this project, will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions for a value in excess of 250.000 tonn/year.
