GuigliaIn February 2011, Italgen signed an agreement with Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) for the construction of a photovoltaic system for over 6 MW in Guiglia (Modena). The plant, built on an area of more than 20 acres at a former mining site owned by Italcementi, is a major example of reclaimation of a discontinued operation, which has been completely transformed into a site of electricity production from renewable source, with maximum efficiency in the use of existing infrastructure.Grid-connected in Q2 of 2011, the plant meets the annual energy demand of 2.000 households, saving approximately 5.000 tons of Carbon Dioxide.
