Thermal power plants

  Villa di Serio

Since the post-war period, exploitation of thermal energy sources has always been crucial for Italcementi Group to meet its energy requirements.
Today Italgen owns the thermal power plant of Villa di Serio, in the Bergamo valleys, with a total capacity of 90 MW.

Italgen is pursuing a strategy of modernization and technological innovation of this plant aimed at increasing production while minimizing the related environmental impact, reducing polluting emissions, optimizing fuel use, making use of BAT (Best Available Technology) and blending the plant’s structure with the surrounding landscape as well as possible.

Site revamping and redesign associated with landscape reengineering through the construction of a combined cycle power plant.
