 In line with Italgen’s stated objectives and Italcementi’s sustainable development policy, the “Clean Energy Dispensers” project is pursued to give a tangible and concrete contribution to corporate commitment to sustainability.
The dispenser appearing on Italgen’s website displays in real time the amount of energy that Italgen’s hydropower plants are producing from renewable energy sources, the number of barrels of oil equivalent saved (disclaimer) and the corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions.
Clean energy dispensers are located at Italcementi Group’s main sites as a tangible contribution to the sustainable development and mobility programs promoted by the group.
Each dispenser dispenses electricity from Italgen’s hydropower plants to recharge the company’s fleet of electric bicycles and cars.
Sustainable Mobility at Italcementi Group entails concrete actions aimed at reducing the negative environmental and social impacts generated by the employees’ regular commuting to and from work. This is accomplished through the promotion of the employees’ awareness to the conservation and enhancement of the territory with a considerable and direct benefit to the local community and the environment.
