Palazzolo hydroelectric power plant celebrates its 50th anniversary

Our hydroelectric power plant of Palazzolo sull'Oglio, Brescia, has celebrated today its 50th anniversary in a ceremony attended by current and former employees, local government representatives and the social community.

Since its start-up in 1958, the plant has produced over 1,400 billion sustainable kWh, saving 1 million tons of CO2 emissions and 2.5 million of oil barrels.

The plant is one of Italgen’s major hubs for energy production, ensuring the supply of clean energy to Italcementi cement plants of Calusco d'Adda and Rezzato.

With an investment of about one million euro, it is one of the most efficient plants in northern Italy.
